We work to a return this nation to its moral and spiritual greatness - not because of an antiquated notion of religion or a fear of the secular, but because we know that life for all of us will be positively effected in practical ways.

Supreme Court Justice Scalia once remarked: "You see - it use to be thought that - that religion - it didn't matter what religion, but it - some code of morality always went with it and was thought, you know, what was called a God-fearing person might be less likely to mug me and rape my sister. That apparently is not the view ... anymore." It is an indication of how far our culture has fallen when involved Christians are considered part of the problem and that we might be a threat to this country's future. What we threaten is a secular, relativistic, hedonistic culture that is creating pain and confusion in a lost, and hurting world.

Christ enlightens us. He makes us aware of what is going on and enables us to be responsive to it. If this nation will ever recover from its current moral crisis, it will be because we participated in the process. Christians are called to be the salt of the earth. Matthew 5:13. God expects us to preserve society and, by any measure of societal decay, America needs preservation.

We should be engaged in the political process in a spirit of love, with courage to communicate the truth - resisting the intolerance and unsubstantiated inflammatory mischaracterizations aimed at us in an attempt to alienate us from the mainstream and silence our political voice.

Fortunately, God is on the side of truth. We have an obligation to tell the truth on issues that matter to God - this nations future and the political condition and direction matter to Him.

There will never be a perfect candidate. But there are God-honoring, pro-family candidates to elect. This country needs an informed electorate. We need to get out the vote - and vote our values.
